Attracting new customers to Leicester’s Sunnyside Garden Centre

The Client

Sunnyside Garden Centre is based in Ibstock, just outside Leicester, offering a fantastic garden centre, together with an in-house restaurant.

The Challenge

The smart guys at Sunnyside Garden Centre recognised the need to add additional revenue streams into the business, increase footfall and improve dwell-time, as well as appealing to a different demographic, all with the aim of generating more revenue and profit.

The answer? Soft play.

What We Did

We designed and installed a five-tier soft play frame, which they’ve housed in a separate building with its own café.

Complete with an astroslide, a drop slide, baby and toddler area and a football pitch, as well as the usual high quality soft play suspects, this soft play area is a destination in its own right.

The Result

Sunnyside Garden Centre now appeals to a much broader target market, bringing more people in through the doors and increasing revenue and profit.

Crucially, the separation of the existing café and restaurant means that they haven’t eaten their own lunch – the previous demographic are still happy, and the new customers they’re attracting are walking through the retail section and spending on their way out.
