Hi, we’re The Play Company, based in Devon, UK and operating all over the world.

We’ve grown massively over the last five years, from a small team based out of our Devon office and factory, to a team of over 40 all over the world.

And if you’ve got experience in the world of family entertainment, or you’re looking for a job in that sector, you’re in exactly the right place.

We’re designing and selling A LOT of play areas, and we’re always on the lookout for team members we can trust to help us design, install and maintain them.

Who are we?

The Play Company is an established international soft play design, manufacturer, installer and maintainer, and we’ve designed and installed soft play areas all over the world, including the USA, UAE and all over Europe. 

Each of our designs are bespoke, allowing us to provide the perfect solution for the clients we work with.

We’re growing every month, taking on new customers, new sites, new installs, and as a result, our team does too – whoever you are, if you’ve got skills that’ll help us, then we want to talk to you.

Industrial Sewing Machinist

Responsibilities:

As a member of our team, your responsibilities will include overseeing the entire lifecycle of our high-quality products, from inception to completion. 

You will be expected to keep our equipment in prime working order and your workspace neat and efficient. Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments is essential. 

Effective communication with your colleagues and prompt updates to the Production Supervisor regarding any potential project delays are critical to our success. 

You’ll also engage in ongoing training to enhance your skills and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.

Experience and Skills:

We’re seeking a candidate proficient in operating industrial sewing machines, with experience working with a Walking Foot machine ( though it’s not essential). The right applicant will demonstrate excellent manual dexterity, superior hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality of work in every task undertaken.

Organisational skills are essential in this role, along with the ability to meet deadlines and efficiently manage timelines. Someone whoAdaptability is key, as the candidate must be ready to adjust to changing production methods. Experience with sewing components such as eyelets and zippers is essential, and while specific training on our range of manufacturing materials will be provided, the ability to interpret and apply instructions from various formats is crucial.

Effective communication across all levels of our company and a positive team spirit are key for this position. 

A full driver’s license is also required due to our location.

Creative Designer

Responsibilities:

As a key contributor to our team, your main role involves crafting unique 3D models, layouts, and drawings tailored to our clients’ needs. You’ll also redesign and review these creations, ensuring they align with guidelines and specifications. You should be able to show 3D renders, for Soft Play frames and Family Entertainment Centres, following industry standards.

We will want you to stay ahead of the curve by researching and adopting new design styles and techniques. It is equally important to us that you’re happy to build positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and clients, fostering open communication for a collaborative work environment that is both fun and productive.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you’ll need a degree-level qualification in product design, industrial design, or a related field. Your technical skills should extend into SolidWorks, The Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office Programs. Proficiency in interpreting both 2D and 3D drawings is crucial.

Your creative flair and graphical design skills will be valuable assets as you effectively communicate ideas to both the team and customers. We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to work within deadlines.

You should be adept at taking instructions and measurements, whether conveyed verbally or through drawings or emails, and applying them to 3D models and their respectful layouts, drawings, and designs. 

Effective communication within this role is essential, and we’ll value a positive team player who contributes to a collaborative work environment.

This would be role-dependent and subject to passing a probation period, however, yes a lot of our team are hybrid workers.

We’ve found most of our creative minds work best when a role is flexible.

Whilst we don’t currently offer any gym memberships or cycle-to-work schemes, we are looking into bringing a diverse and cool set of targets that would bring new perks into a working environment.
